3.5G/HSDP cellular infrastructure deployment

Manage the integration and delivery of portion of $750M of 3.5G Cellular sites in Northern Alberta

  •   Planning and implementing activities, coordinate and schedule contracted resources required for network augmentation,
  •  Review planning specifications and civil work orders for technical accuracy and implementations disconnects,
  •   Resolve civil Trouble Reports on the network, inspect construction activities and conduct Acceptance Handovers on Network Build Activities,
  •  Maintain vendor relationships with civil contractors, review current standards and develop new practices related to civil, structural, mechanical and electrical systems within the network infrastructure

 

2005-2006

FOIRL Network, Power plant and broadband wireless

Design  OC3 microwave hops from Grand Cache to Simonette customer broadband data link.Including:

  • OC3 hops of 6 GHz Alcatel OC3 MDR8000 transceivers,
  • Space diversity on all antennas as well as redundant transceivers running on hot standbySpecifying all waveguide and associated antenna configurations and infrastructure
  • Specify and order all microwave transceivers, amplifiers, alarm interface, fiber jumpers, etc.
  • Providing equipment rack layout power and data wiring c/w channel allocations for three sites
  • Coordinate installation and commissioning of all system through field technical support personnel


Provisioned over 90 FOIRL networks across Canada and United States including RX TX data assignment.

 Provisioned 20 different 100 to 500 kW Telco -48V power plants in Western Canada.

  • Specify equipment procure equipment
  • Provide site drawings including rack layout supply buss hardware, conductor sizing, rack and equipment grounding and alarm signaling deployment for Emerson Power LMS1000 and Argus DC power plants

 

1991-1998

Broadband point to point microwave and point to multipoint SCADA Telecommunications

Designed UHF polling hub SCADA wireless links.

Set up VSAT links for telemetry at remote SCADA sites.

Design interface and install 20  full duplex CSI9800 telephone radio interconnects at 16 different base station and repeater installation across Northern Alberta. Install 18 GHz Urbanet Harris Farinon control center loop diversity in Edmonton. 


Integration of 800 MHz Johnson multi-net radio system.  System was comprised of 32 multi-net nodes across Alberta, data channel and audio brought back on T2 backbone to terminal node controller in Edmonton.. Configure CIM cards and TNC software as turn up sites


  • Setup and maintain MDSI 800 MHZ multi-node Motorola 800 MHz Computer aided dispatch vehicle database communications network and mainframe.

  • Assist in providing factory acceptance testing on entire multli-net system at Johnson Radio Ltd. at Waseca Minnesota.

 

1985-1991

 

Cable Head end, TVRO and UHF Television DBS design and construction.

Design cable head end and distribution systems including:

  • Specifying customer TVRO antenna , LNA, LNB etc. 
  • Cancom DBS receiver decoder hardware
  • Specifying customer head end modulation distributions scheme
  • Specifying customer video audio encryption scenario

 

 LMR,  paging systems, cellular, Aurora phone, XJ phones

 Provide maintenanve, support, installaltion and commissioing of several systems across Western Canada including:

  • Antenna Systems/Tower
  • Power Supply Unit
  • Interface to existing equipment, 2 wire remotes, paging encoder data cicuit.
  • Develop numerous equipment test reports standardizing startup and commissioing.

 

Design Wireless UHF TV rebroadcast infrastructure:

  • In addition specifying video and audio encryption hardware requirement. 
  • UHF transmitter customer licensing
  • Specifying customer tower and panelized antenna infrastructure based on path profiling software assessment
